Man, son electrocuted at Papayyavalasa village

Makkuva (Vizianagaram): In a tragic incident, a man and his son were electrocuted at Papayyavalasa village in Makkuva mandal in the district on Friday. According to Circle Inspector of Salur, one V Srinivasa Rao (38) was working in Hyderabad in a private firm and was staying there, along with his wife and son Rohit (13).

Rohit came to his grandparents’ home to spend summer holidays and his father and mother recently came to the village to take their son along with them to Hyderabad. On Friday, Rohit went to take a bath in the field but he did not  return even after one hour.

Worried over his son’s fate, his father went there and found him lying near a pumpset and he tried to lift him, as he was not aware that his son was already electrocuted. Immediately, he, too, was electrocuted. On receiving information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
