APTET-2018 commences today

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Teachers Eligibility Test (APTET-2018) will be conducted from June 10 to 19 through online system, said HRD Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao at Circuit house in the city. A total of 113 exam centres will be arranged in Andhra Pradesh and also in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Telangana. According to their merit and roster system, the teacher appointments will be done.

Addressing the media here on Saturday, Ganta said that a total of 3.97 lakh TET aspirants will be appearing for their exam in both morning and afternoon sessions. As many as 14,891 aspirants didn’t given their options.

He also said that APPSC would announce a notification for filling up of 10,351 teaching posts on July 6th; applications will be received from  from July 7th to August 9th; the tentative date for written exam could be on August 24th ,25th and 26th  and the DSC results will be announced on September 15th.  For any assistance, aspirants can approach through a helpline numbers (9505619127, 9505780617, 9505853627). In 2014, after the TET was conducted for the first time, AP government had recruited around 10,000 teaching posts and for second time in 2018 AP government is planning to recruit 10,351 teaching posts.

He also added that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is keen about the welfare of youth and their education. Every student should study on the benches but not on the floor, that is the reason behind why TDP has been allocating over Rs 25 crores to the education sector in the budget and developing the infra at schools and colleges, he added.
