Ashok inaugurates RoB

Vizianagaram: Former Union Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju inaugurated the railway-over-bridge (RoB) at Alamanda railway station on Saturday. 

It was constructed at a cost of Rs 37 crore and now, the vehicles can cross the railway gate without waiting for the train to pass. 

Actually, the bridge was supposed to be completed long ago but due to some administrative reasons, it was completed now. 

Later, Minister for Mines and Geology Sujay said that the government is giving top priority to provide basic infrastructure like roads, buildings and others to connect the villages with towns. 

Ashok Gajapathi Raju said that the bridge would help the cane-laden lorries to reach Bheemasingi Sugar Factory sans waiting at the railway gate. MLA K Appala Naidu and others participated in the programme.

The government sanctioned Rs 1500 crore to complete the roads and bridges in the district and the works are in progress. Two more RoBs are being constructed at Parvathipuram and Manapuram.
