BJP leaders to stage protest against TDP tomorrow
Vijayawada: The leaders of the Andhra Pradesh State unit of the BJP would stage protest against the Telugu Desam in Vijayawada city on June 11. The BJP wants to counter the ongoing criticism of the BJP by the Telugu Desam Party on the Centre’s non-cooperation in the implementation of AP Reorganisation Act.
BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana is finalising an action plan to organise various programmes against the Telugu Desam after assuming charge. As part of it, the BJP decided to stage protest at Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada on June 11. The rank and file of the BJP will participate on a large scale in the protest.
The executive committee of the State BJP also would meet on June 10 to discuss party future programmes and also protests against the Telugu Desam. All the important leaders of party would take part in the meeting. The BJP has already planned to organise various party programmes across the State from June 12 to July 6.
The BJP leaders want to explain the Centre’s allocations to the State and also failures of Telugu Desam Party in the protest, said BJP state general secretary Jammula Shyam Kishore. The Telugu Desam encouraged attack against the BJP national president Amit Shah during his recent Tirupati visit, he said and added that they would expose several issues at the meeting.
The Telugu Desam Party was blaming the BJP in the name of Special Category Status and various other issues, he said. Now the BJP would counter the criticism of Telugu Desam explaining the facts to public by organising door-to-door campaign, he added. The Centre would extend cooperation to the State in implementing the AP Reorganisation Act in toto, he said.
