CCTV cameras inaugurated in Maruti Colony
Vijayawada: Joint Commissioner of Police Kanti Rana Tata on Sunday inaugurated the CC cameras installed by the residents of Maruti Colony under the police station limits of Patamata.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Joint Commissioner said CC cameras and footages were very useful to nab the criminals and prevent the crime.
He said the Police department had installed CC cameras in many important junctions of the city.
The Police commissioner congratulated the residents of Maruti Colony for installing the CC cameras.
He said residents of many colonies in Vijayawada were coming forward to install CC cameras. He further said the CC cameras were also available at reasonable prices.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shireen Begum said the Locked House Monitoring System is very useful to the people.
She said whenever people go to other places, they can inform the police and neighbours to keep vigil to prevent house breakings. She said crime rate is gradually decreasing in the city due to installation of CC cameras and increasing patrolling.
She felt criminals are become afraid with installation of CC cameras particularly in the crime-prone areas of the city.
DCP (Law and order) Gajarao Bhupal, ACP Central zone N Satyanandam and other police officials, local residents attended the event.
