Political Power to Bahujans Advocated

Ongole:  Former Prakasam District Collector Dasari Srinivasulu has linked achievement of social justice to the political power to Bahujans. 

He was speaking as chief guest at a seminar held at the CPI office here on Sunday on the topic: “Dalits-Social justice” under the aegis of the Dalit Hakkula Porata Samiti (DHPS).
 
He said the need of the hour is not reforms but political power to Dalits. 

He called for unity among the dalits, girijans, poorer and weaker-section of society, who constitute 85 per cent of the population, to achieve their rights. 

He expressed concerning over state and central governments weakening the SC and ST sub-plan implementation and the SC and ST Atrocities (Prohibition) Act and bent on destroying public sector at the cost of growth of private sector. 

He called for launching united struggles by Bahujans to achieve their rights.
 
CPI state executive member PJ Chandrasekhar blamed the BJP at the Center and TDP in the State for increasing number of attacks on the Dalits and charged with failure to rein in the attacks. 

Former medical officer Dr Anjaiah put the blame on the state government for driving over 3 lakh outsourcing employees on to the streets. 

DHPS general secretary Nakkala Srinivasa Rao spoke. 

Retired joint collector Shamsher Ahmed, CPI city secretary SD Sardar, DHPS leaders Yesobu, Nageswara Rao, Anjaiah, Subba Rao, Israel and others took part in the programme.
