TET in 12 Centres from Today
Tirupati: Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) will begin on Sunday and continue till June 19 under various subjects and categories.
The test will be held in 12 centres in Chittoor district including one at Chennai. In all, 45,315 candidates have registered for the TET under SGT, school assistant, language pandits and physical education teachers etc.
Majority centres (6) are located in Tirupati, said DEO Dr K Panduranga Swamy.
Through this computer-based test, candidates can get weightage of marks in the DSC selections, he added.
In DSC, 80 per cent weightage for the exam and 20 per cent weightage for the TET.
Candidates can write it repeatedly and highest score among them will be considered and that score will have a validity of 7 years, DEO explained.
In the coming days, TET may be made compulsory for private school teachers also.
The exam will be held in two sessions with the first session starts at 9.30 am and second session at 2.30 pm for which candidates should attend 30 minutes before.
DEO Dr Swamy said that all arrangements have been made to conduct examinations smoothly and peacefully.
All three Deputy Educational Officers will act as flying squads in their respective areas and will ensure that no malpractices take place, DEO averred.
