57,960 names missing from voters list in East Godavari

Pithapuram: A total of 57, 960 voters including 11, 366 in Pithapuram have gone missing in 10 municipalities and Nagar Panchayats of East Godavari in an integrated electoral re-survey conducted by the booth-level officials.

With the inclusion of new voters in the towns, the number of voters should increase, but it was the other way around.  The total number of voters reported missing in the following towns is as follows: Pithapuram-11,366, Peddapuram-5,524, Samalkot-4,638, Ramachandrapuram-4,487, Mummidivaram-1,377, Amalapuram-6,662, Mandapet-9,519, Tuni-8,935, Yeleswaram-3,591 and Gollaprolu-1,861. Local MLA NVSN Varma expressed his ire over the missing of voters from the electoral list and lodged a with collector Karthikeya Mishra.
