Vijayawada: BJP state executive committee meeting here on Sunday decided to counter the “false propaganda” of TDP against the Centre and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Several important leaders, including party observer Satishji, state president Kanna Lakshminarayana, MPs K Haribabu, Gokaraju Ganga Raju, former Union minister D Purandeswari, MLAs A Satyanarayana, P Vishnukumar Raju and MLC Somu Veerraju along with convenors of various morchas of the state party attended the meeting.

They also opined that the TDP was deliberately carrying out false propaganda against the Centre in the name of AP Reorganisation Act and accused the government of harassing the rank and file of BJP using police with fake cases.

The party said it would “expose” the real face of the TDP.  Taking serious exception to the statements of TDP leaders that the BJP had a nexus with the YSRCP  and Jana Sena, the BJP said it would fight against the TDP.

The BJP leaders also alleged that the TDP government was indulging in rampant corruption in Neeru-Chettu programme and housing scheme. There was no progress in metro rail project due to corruption of state government, they said.

They condemned the comments of minister for tourism Bhuma Akhila Priya against the Prime Minister with regard to increasing incidence of crimes against women in the country.  The party has decided to organise a major protest in Vijayawada on Monday (June 11) against the alleged failures and corruption of the state government.

The executive committee meeting finalised the various party programmes. The leaders of BJP would tour 13 districts to explain the development and welfare schemes being implemented by the Centre to people.

The meeting decided to take part in the World Yoga Day programme which is to be held in June 21. Similarly,  bike rallies, door to door campaign and district-wise meetings would be conducted across the state and several senior leaders would supervise the programmes, said party state president Kanna Lakshminarayana.
