Masula Beach Festival evokes good response

Vijayawada: The three-day Masula Beach Festival being organised by the district administration from June 9 to 11 evoked good response on Sunday as thousands of people attended the festival at Manginapudi beach.

The district administration made elaborate arrangements for the event. Heli ride, para sailing, food courts, giant wheel and other recreation toys attracted the visitors. More than 250 police personnel were deployed for the three-day event to prevent any untoward incident. Expert swimmers were kept ready at the beach to meet any eventuality.

Minister for Sports Kollu Ravindra, District Collector B Lakshmikantham supervised the arrangements on Sunday. Sand arts, cultural programmes, mango exhibition attracted the visitors. Speaking on the occasion, Collector Lakshmikantham said that the district administration is planning to develop the beach and conduct the beach festival every year.

Minister Kollu Ravindra congratulated the officials for the arrangements made for the festival. He said the response from the people was more than expected and announced more such festivals would be organised in future. The police department taken measures to regulate the traffic on the roads leading to the Manginapudi beach. 

Meanwhile, media personnel faced many problems to send the news and photos from the venue due to lack of net facility. The district administration has failed to arrange computers and net connection for the convenience of media personnel. 

However, Collector Lakshmikantham instructed the officials to arrange net facility on a war-footing basis at Manginapudi beach for the convenience of the media.
