Pratyeka Hoda Samiti to rope in students

Vijayawada: AP Pratyeka Hoda Sadhana Samiti has decided to intensify the agitation for Special Category Status with the support of students and teachers. The leaders of Samiti, including president Chalasani Srinivas, CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna discussed the future agitation programmes in a meeting here on Sunday.

They also decided to mount pressure on the Centre by staging protests with the help of students and teachers. Taking a strong exception to the claims of BJP leaders that the 85 per cent of assurances of AP Reorganisation Act implemented, the Samiti leaders challenged the BJP leaders to prove their claims. 

CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna said that most of the promises made in AP Reorganisation Act had not been implemented. Stating that the Centre announced a Bundelkhand model package for backward districts in the state but it had given only Rs 350 crore.
