Amaravati: A delegation of Dalit minsters, MPs, MLAs and MLCs of TDP will meet President Ramnath Kovind in New Delhi on Monday to complain against the BJP’s anti-Dalit policies, said AP SC/ST Finance Corporation chairman Jupudi Prabhakar.

Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad on Sunday, Prabhakar said the party would expose the attempts of BJP to dilute the provisions of SC/ST Atrocities Act. “The BJP even did not allow the protests of Dalits against its attempts to dilute the SC/ST Atrocities Act. Around 11 people were killed in the protests during countrywide strike against BJP after the Supreme Court’s judgment on the SC/ST Act,” he said.

Stating the TDP had wrote letters to President and Prime Minister over the issue and condemned the anti-Dalit policies of BJP, he said, the state government had passed a resolution during the budget session of AP Assembly seeking to maintain status quo on the Act.

He said the TDP would intensify its fight against BJP for its anti-Dalit stand and make efforts to defeat the BJP in the ensuing elections.  He also came down heavily on YSRCP for not questioning saffron party over its attempts to dilute the Act.  He called upon Dalits to consider both the BJP and YSRCP as anti-Dalit and teach them a fitting lesson in the ensuing elections.
