There is no democracy in AP, alleges Kanna Lakshminarayana
Vijayawada: BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana and other leaders lashed out at the TDP government and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday alleging that there is no democracy in the State.
He said the Chief Minister was using the police force to intimidate the Opposition parties and common people who are questioning the misrule of the State government.
BJP staged a mega dharna at the Dharna Chowk here on Monday protesting against the failure of the TDP government and the derogatory comments being made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the TDP leaders in the State. BJP leaders and functionaries from different parts of the State participated in the dharna, which rocked the Dharna chowk.
Speaking on the occasion, Kanna Lakshminarayana alleged that Chandrababu Naidu had cheated Kapus, Boyas, Vadderas, fishermen and Rajakas over Kapu quota. He said Chandrababu Naidu had betrayed Kapus by promising reservations and later ignored it.
He said similarly, Rajakas, fishermen and Boyas were also cheated by the Chief Minister. Kanna alleged that the police were going to the houses of the leaders of these castes and intimidating them not to question the government about the promises made by the TDP in its manifesto.
He said the BJP also knew how to hit back at the TDP. He warned the TDP to stop abusing the BJP leaders. “We can ask our functionaries to abuse the TDP leaders 100 times more, but we are not doing it,” he added.
Kanna Lakshminarayana alleged that the TDP government in the State was claiming credit for the schemes for which the Central government has been sanctioning funds.
Pointing out that the Union government was sanctioning funds for the multipurpose Polavaram Project, but Naidu was claiming credit as if it is a State government project.
He said Chandranna Bima scheme was being implemented from the labour cess collected by the government from the builders. But, the Chief Minister was claiming that the State government was sanctioning funds for it.
Kanna said the TDP does not have any agenda except to defame the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The BJP State president alleged that there was rampant corruption in Neeru –Chettu scheme, Polavaram construction works and NREGS works etc.
BJP floor leader in the State Assembly P Vishnu Kumar Raju reiterated that an exclusive railway zone will be sanctioned to the State with Vizag as its headquarters. He criticised the TDP for indulging in malicious campaign against the BJP.
Former Union minister Purandeswari, Narsapuram MP Gokaraju Gangaraju, Party state general secretary Jammula Syam Kishore, MLC P Madhav and others spoke on the occasion. BJP functionaries from different parts of the State attended the dharna and extended their support to the party leaders.
