Tobacco Board secretary visits Auction Centres

Ongole: Tobacco Board secretary Addanki Sridhar Babu visited two auction centers in the district on Tuesday and assured them to address the issues being faced by farmers by discussing them with the merchants in the meeting on Wednesday at Guntur office.

Sridhar visited Kondapi and Kandukur tobacco auction centers with the board officials and interacted with the farmers. 

He enquired about the offered prices for various grades of tobacco in the auction centers. 

The farmers complained Sridhar that Gatti Madu and Moddu Pasara types of tobacco were not being purchased by the merchants.

The Tobacco Board secretary assured the farmers that he would discuss the matter with the tobacco merchants on Wednesday and see they purchase the two types of tobacco also in the auction.

Balineni Seethaiah, Tobacco Board member, Pothula Narasimha Rao, Solid Black Soil Farmers Association president, farmers Pammi Badri Reddy, Pamidi Veera Raghavaiah, Narasa Reddy, Siva Reddy and Ramanaiah interacted with the Tobacco Board secretary while regional manager Umamaheswara Rao and auction manager Ravi Kumar participated along with him in the tour.
