Addressing a public meeting at Kotipalli bus station here on his arrival in the district, he said the politicians who enjoy power should resign from their posts, if they failed to fulfil the promises made to the people. The change is required to deliver the goods to the people at the right time and also to avoid corruption at all levels.

Jagan appealed to the people to bless him in the forthcoming Assembly elections and assured to fulfil all the promises made during his PSY.  Pointing out that his party had announced Navaratnalu, Jagan said that he would implement them on getting elected to power. Under Arogyasri, the government will bear any amount above Rs 1,000 incurred by the patient. Jagan flayed the TDP government for diluting Arogyasri scheme.

He said 70 per cent of works relating to right and left canals of Polavaram Project were completed during the tenure of Y S Rajasekhara Reddy as the Chief Minister. He said Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was misleading the people by laying new foundation stones.

Jagan said corruption had become rampant under the TDP rule. The YSRCP chief alleged that Naidu had mortgaged the Special Category Status to AP to protect his own interests. He also accused the local TDP leaders of indulging in sand smuggling.

Sand ramps in Rajamahendravaram, Sitanagaram, Dowleswaram etc became a boon to ruling party MLAs and leaders, he alleged Jagan said commissions were going to Peddababu and Chinnababu. The Collectors and police officers turned into mere spectators and not taking action against the sand looters, he alleged.

Jagan wondered how the Chief Minister could speak about democracy when he had purchased the YSRCP MLAs. He also alleged that the Janmabhoomi Committees set up by the TDP were looting government funds. YSRCP leaders RSP Rao, K Durgeshm J Vijaya Lakshmi, J Raja, A Virraju, YVS Reddy and many others were present.

Earlier, Jagan was accorded a warm welcome by party activists on his arrival in East Godavari district. YSRCP leaders and workers in large numbers received him at the rail-cum-road bridge when he came from Kovvur. Meanwhile, vehicular traffic was stopped on the bridge for nine hours from 11 am to 8 pm and the buses and other vehicles proceeding towards Vijayawada were diverted from Dowleswaram and Ravulapalem.
