AP Nayee Brahmins demanding fixed Wages

Amalapuram:  The Nayee  Brahmins attached to various temple for tonsuring and allied duties will observe indefinite ‘knife down’ against the discrimination  to them despite attending to duties at various temples in the state  of AP for decades.

As part of their demands the Barbers at Balabalaji Temple at Appanapalli in Razole mamdal observing protest day wearing black badges from 11 of this month.

According to AP Nayee Brahmin Federation and Barbers Association vice president Sundaraaplli Gopalakrishna, the barbers of all the temples including Dwaraka Tirumala and Simhachalam temples will participate in the indefinite knife down programme from 15 of this month. 

In the last four days from 11 of this month the barbers have been attending to duties wearing black badges he said.

Our prime demands are Rs 15,000 salary per month,  PF and ESI facility. 

For those who retire after superannuation should be paid Rs 5,000 as pension. Gopalakrishna appeared to the public to understand t heir decade’s old  problems and extend their support.

He also appealed to the Endowments authorities to consider their reasonable demands.
