Mayor participates in Clean Godavari Initiative

Rajamahendravaram: Mayor Pantham Rajani Sesha Sai, Sub-Collector CM Saikanth Varma and many others participated in Chinalamma ghat cleaning programme here on Tuesday. 

They started cleaning the ghat from 6 am.

Later, the mayor appealed to the people to extend their cooperation to clean Godavari which is the need of the hour. 

Everyone should feel it as a responsibility to clean the river which was filled with plastic and other waste material. 

Plastic material is harmful to human lives and it takes 500 years for its regeneration. 

Municipal Corporation was putting in its efforts to avoid pollution in the river.

“Thousands of people across the state are taking a dip in the river and it is our duty to combat pollution in the river. 

The municipal corporation extends its support to the organisations who come forward to clean the ghats,” she added.

The Sub-Collector said that it was the duty of everyone to maintain the sanctity of the river which is having thousands of years of culture and tradition.

Corporation Additional Commissioner NVV Satyanarayana Rao and others were present.
