Propagate SC/ST Rights in Rural Areas: Sivaji
Kakinada: AP SC/ST Commission chairman Kareem Savaji who is on a three-day visit to East Godavari received representations from SC/ST people on Tuesday.
At the programme conducted at district Collectorate here, the chairman observed that more concrete measures are needed to propagate on the rights of these social sections in remote rural areas.
He also stressed that more publicity is also needed on availing various welfare schemes meant for these sections.
Savajii said that on the second day, on Wednesday, he will be visiting both JNTU-K and Adikavi Anaya University and on Thursday East Godavari agency to check the implementation of the rule of reservation.
The SC/ST Commission chairman also said that measures are being initiated to check the spending of SC/ST Sub-plan funds sanctioned to various departments.
Several people including women submitted their representations to the commission and the same were forwarded to the concerned departments for speedy redressal.
SC/ST Commission secretary Subba Rao and other officials participated.
