TTD chief priests file caveat in Supreme Court

New Delhi: Venugopala Deekshitulu, chief priest of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) filed a caveat in the apex court here on Wednesday against any petitions challenging the removal of A V Ramana Deekshitulu.

Speaking to the media later, Kaushal Yadav, a counsel of Venugopal Deekshitulu, here on Wednesday said that as Ramana Deekshitulu was planning to approach the apex court with his petition sometime next month and hence the caveat. He said the caveat was filed apprehending that someone would approach the court against the GO issued by the state government appointing his client Venugopala Deekshitulu as the chief priest.

Meanwhile, TTD issued notices to former chief priest Ramana Deekshitulu and YSR Congress Party MP Vijayasai Reddy on their allegations leveled against TTD.

A senior TTD official who confirmed the issuing of the notices to the duo, on condition of anonymity, said that the legal action follows the TTD trust board resolution which decided to file a defamatory case against Deekshitulu and YSRCP leader for levelling baseless allegations against TTD.
