AP Chief Minister Relief Fund beneficiaries likely to cross one lakh mark

Amaravati: The state government is going to cross one lakh beneficiaries under the Chief Minister Relief Fund (CMRF) within a month, this is going to be another milestone under N Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership.

According to CMRF officials, the government has provided financial assistance of Rs 772 crore to more than 98,400 patients in the state from 2014 to till date under the CMRF. Among 13 districts, the highest number of patients received financial aid from government were belonged to Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Kadapa districts. 

Nearly 18,000 patients received more than Rs 128.5 crore from Krishna district, 12,867 patients from Guntur district got Rs 110 crore, 12,796 patients got Rs 91.3 crore in Prakasam district, 12,000 patients benefitted Rs 87.6 crore in Kadapa district, 9,500 patients benefitted in Anantapur district, 8,300 patients benefitted Rs 70 crore in West Godavari and 6,100 patients got Rs 56.9 crore in East Godavari.

Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam were least benefitted districts among the rest. Only 1,012 patients received Rs 10.8 crore in Srikakulam followed by 1,157 patients got Rs 10.7 crore in Vizianagaram and 2,700 patients got Rs 27 crore aid in Visakhapatnam. 

The officials said they gave Rs 8 lakh per each one of 10 patients for heart transplantation, Rs 10 lakh per each one of around 200 patients for liver transplantation, Rs 3 lakh for around 500 patients suffering with cancer and this money could be used for regular treatment also. 

Like that, the state government provided Rs 4-4.5 lakh per each one of nearly 50 patients for kidney transplantation and Rs 5.2 lakh per each patient of around 200 for cochlear implantation for children aged between 5-10 years.

Generally, above five-year children would not be eligible to get financial support for cochlear implantation, but Naidu considered them as special cases under the CMRF.
