Vijayawada: Choice of the thread determines the quality of the cloth and choices of students determine the direction and nature of their life in future, said KP Shaik, 8th Andhra Naval Unit Commander on Thursday.

Shaik was the chief guest of the convocation ceremony of NCC B Certificate Cadets organised on the Andhra Loyola College premises. Addressing the gathering, he said that some students choose to join NCC and they are given rigorous training and are exposed to various challenges.

They participate in societal-oriented, need-based activities and render their service to the nation and they get self-disciplined and readily work in teams, he said.

He said that they are trained to obey their leaders and execute the task within the allotted time. NCC cadets are, therefore, deserved to be honoured which would motivate other students to join NCC and render voluntary services to the nation, he added.

Shaik distributed NCC B-Certificates to 78 navel cadets who passed the exam. The 8th Andhra Naval Unit NCC had made arrangements of the convocation ceremony.

Andhra Loyola College Degree Vice-Principal Rev. Fr. S Melchiore SJ, Associate NCC officers Lieutenant Commander M Arokiasamy, Sub-Lieutenant Mettilda Sub-Lieutenant Venkatesh, Superintendent M Kondaiah , Chief Petti Officer SNS Yadav were present along with PI staff and Cadets of Andhra Loyola College, PB Siddhartha Arts and Science and Maris Stella College.
