20 mobile clinics to curb dengue, malaria

Visakhapatnam: Special Chief Secretary of Medical, Health and Family Welfare Poonam Malakondaiah said that 20 mobile malaria clinics would be operated in Visakhapatnam to arrest the spreading of malaria and dengue fevers in rainy season. She directed the officials to take steps and ensure complete eradication of malaria and dengue in the district. 

Speaking at a review meeting in the city on Friday, Malakondaiah instructed the officials to take all steps to launch mobile clinics and ensure one special medical officer at each clinic. She directed the officials to utilise the services of members from SHGs, ASHA, Sadikararamitra and Mahila Arogya Samithi to check the viral fevers.

She also directed the Commissioner, GVMC to declare every Friday as dry day and take up cleaning of water tanks and drainages. Collector K Pravin Kumar was also present.
