Complete land acquisition for projects by June-end

Srikakulam: Collector K Dhanunjaya Reddy directed the revenue officials to accelerate land acquisition process for all irrigation projects in the district to meet government fixed targets.

Reviewing the progress of irrigation projects along with Joint Collector KVN Chakradhara Babu here on Friday, he directed the officials to complete land acquisition process by June-end. Madduvalasa extension, Thotapalli canals, off-shore reservoir on Mahendratanaya river works were pending due to land acquisition problems, he said.

He asked the officials to settle payments after finalisation of price for land and provide facilities at rehabilitation colonies under off-shore project in Palasa mandal.

Expressing serious concern over the officials’ attitude over lapses regarding land acquisition process, he warned that he would not tolerate them and asked the officials to complete the land acquisition process by June-end. 

Joint Collector said that we have adopted transparent system for land acquisition and payments and officials can proceed without delaying. Revenue divisional officers  of Srikakulam, Palakonda, Tekkali and concerned departmental officials were present.
