Divisional Railway Manager inaugurates digital machine at railway stadium
Visakhapatnam: Divisional Railway Manager Mukul Saran Mathur on Friday inaugurated the digital machine at the Railway Indoor Sports Enclave (RISE) in the presence of ADRM K Dhanunjeya Rao and Assistant Sports Officers Ch Vishnu Murthy and Shiva Harsha.
Speaking on the occasion, he said there was a lot of demand for the slots to play at RISE for badminton and other indoor games. For the orderly management of entry and exit of players who intended to play at RISE, East Coast Railway Sports Association, Waltair division took initiative to introduce bio-metric attendance, he added.
To ensure relaxation to sports persons, the DRM also commissioned a specially designed sports lounge at Railway Stadium. “It is a place where sports persons can socialise while watching the latest televised sports events or by reading success stories of veteran players. The objective is to impart social culture as well as spirit of success,” he added.
Boxing champ concludes
The 11th DRM cup Boxing Championship conducted by ECoRSA concluded on Friday. Over 200 participants took part in 21 kg weight categories.
DRM Mathur presented trophies to winners and runners up.
The closing ceremony was witnessed by ADRM Dhanunjeya Rao, Dronacharya Awardee I Venkateswara Rao, Olympian MV Manikyalu and other officials including Ch Vishnu Murthy and Shiva Harsha, District Boxing Association secretary B Appanna Reddy and ECoRSA secretary MVS Nagesh.
