Natural farming will help protect environment: Sujay
Thotapalli (Vizianagaram): Minister for Mines and Geology RVSK Ranga Rao said that natural farming and consuming of organic products is the best way to protect our health and environment. He advised the farmers to practice natural farming and produce vegetables, fruits and other grains without applying any chemical fertilizers and pesticides.
Participating in a programme organised at Jattu Trust at Thotapalli of Garugubilli mandal on Friday, he said even the state government is supporting the natural farming and joined hands with United Nations Environmental programme (UNEP) and getting huge funds to expand the natural farming to other areas.
“Now, the UNEP will undertake zero budget natural farming and state would be the pioneer in entire world as our farmers are keeping away from chemicals. Even Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is also giving top priority to protect the farmers and their interests,” he said. Dr D Parinaidu, founder of the trust, said they have been producing seeds at low price and distributing to farmers.
Later the minister released the CDs made on natural farming. He also handed over paddy seed bags to the farmers. MLA B Chiranjeevulu, MLC D Jagadish and Joint Collector M Venkata Ramana Reddy participated in the programme.
Later, the minister released water from Thotapalli reservoir for kharif season to facilitate 1.2 lakh hectares. On the occasion, the minister said the AP government was giving top priority for agriculture and completing every pending project to provide water to farms. No other government in AP has worked for the welfare of the society, he said.
