Ongole: Former minister and state president of Raitu Rakshana Vedika Vadde Sobhanadreeswara Raoon Monday blamed Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for neglect of Prakasam district. He alleged that the CM was cooperating with the corporate companies.

Rao said that he came to know from newspapers that Naidu wanted construction of Dugarajapatnam port at the NITI Aayog meeting held in Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday. He expressed surprise as to why the chief minister was asking for the port which was announced non-viable by two agencies of the government.

He said that the chief minister should modify the GO by the state that has given exclusivity to the Krishnapatnam port and announce the Ramayapatnam port as a minor port. He said that the Visakhapatnam Port Trust was ready to develop a minor port in the state, but Chandrababu Naidu was not allowing it.

Rao questioned the progress in the announced National Investment and Manufacturing Zone at Kanigiri and Industrial Corridor at Donakonda. He said that if constructed, the Ramayapatnam port will boost the economy of the district and help grow industries at Donakonda and Kanigiri.

He said that the chief minister was showing utmost care for the completion of Polavaram for the interest of his contractor friends but was not showing any interest in the completion of Veligonda project which was the lifeline of the district.

He alleged that Chandrababu Naidu was showing negligence wontedly about the development of the Prakasam district.

The Prakasam District Development Forum leaders Chunduri Rangarao, Alla Venkateswara Rao, Chunchu Seshaiah, Kanakarao Madiga and others also participated in the programme.
