Blood donation a noble act
Vijayawada: The Kapil Kosta Chits, Vijayawada, Managing Director, Ch Varaprasad, inaugurated the blood donation camp organised by The Hans India, HMTV and Kapil Group at Rotary Red Cross Blood bank in Gandhi Nagar on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Varaprasad said blood donation is an important social service and it can save the lives of people who badly need of blood in emergency cases. He said The Hans India, HMTV and Kapil Group have organised the event with a noble cause of helping the needy.
He congratulated those who came to forward to donate blood. Red Cross Society chief medical officer Dr S Madanmohan said blood is essential to the pregnant women, accident victims and patients suffering from Thalassemia.
He said blood donation will not have negative impact on the health. He reminded some people donate blood once in every six months in order to save the lives of people. The doctors refused to take blood of patients suffering from diabetes and hyper tension and aged over 60 years. In all, 74 persons came forward to donate blood, but only 13 of them qualified to donate blood after tests, said Dr S Madanmohan.
Responding to camp organised by The Hans India, HMTV, some youngsters attended the blood donation camp. Staff working in The Hans India, HMTV and Kapil Group participated in the camp.
