Tirupati: CPI demanded TTD to resume the distribution of free medicines for epilepsy patients in SVIMS which was in practice for several years.  CPI district organising committee member Chinnam Penchalaiah and Town secretary Jalla Viswanath led a dharna held before OP wing of SVIMS in Tirupati on Sunday.

They said that for over 20 years, TTD has been distributing free medicines for epilepsy patients from across the state which was stopped for the last two months.  They said with the indifferent attitude of TTD Executive Officer, SVIMS was not giving the medicines and saying that due to lack of funds they could not distribute them.

They warned both TTD and SVIMS officials of intensifying protest by joining hands with all political parties. SVIMS RMO Dr Vikas, Dr Sivasankar Prasad and Dr Venkata Ramana Reddy spoke to the protestants and assured them on their demand. Along with CPI, Aam Aadmi and Navasamaj Federation workers also participated in the dharna.
