YSRCP alone has been fighting for Special Category Status, claims Botcha
Tirupati: Former minister and YSRCP leader Botcha Satyanarayana claimed that YSRCP was the only party fighting for the Special Category Status to the state for the past four years and accused Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of cheating the people in the name of Darma Poratam on the issue.
He said their party leader Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had been conducting Praja Sankalpa Yatra during which he was educating people on the benefits of the SCS. Lakhs of people walked along with Jagan in East and West Godavari districts, he added.
Addressing the media here on Sunday, Satyanarayana said the TDP government had failed to solve the problems of people and accused the TDP leaders from village to state level of looting people.
He said they had been resorting to large scale irregularities, mainly in sand digging. “Ruling TDP leaders are acting like sand mafia selling a lorry load of sand for Rs 5,000 to 6,000. Those who are constructing houses are suffering a lot in the hands of this mafia,” he said.
Satyanarana said TDP had aligned with BJP for the last four years and maintained close relations but now it is accusing YSRCP of maintaining close relations with BJP. “This allegation is ridiculous. People know who have been maintaining close relation with BJP and Modi Cabinet colleagues,” he said.
Botcha demanded that BJP government release funds immediately for the development of Rayalaseema and Uttarandra regions. He criticised the state government for not providing minimum support price to cotton, chilli, groundnut and other crops.
Chandragiri MLA Chevireddy BhaskarReddy, Nagari MLA R K Roja, Chittoor in-charge J Srinivasulu and others were present at the press conference.
