Kadapa: BJP MLC S Veerraju alleged that irregularities to the tune of Rs 30,000 crore were committed in the State under the TDP rule. He said a Public Interest Litigation would be filed in court in this regard. The MLC, who was in Proddatur on Monday to participate in party programmes, spoke to the mediapersons.

He alleged that the TDP government diverted the Central government funds meant for State development. He said that there have been reports which suggested that irregularities worth Rs 10,000 crore were detected in works related to Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS). The further alleged that crores of rupees were misappropriated in works related to irrigation projects like Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi (HNSS) and Galeru Nagari.

He described the hunger strike proposed to be launched by Rajya Sabha member C M Ramesh for steel plant at Kadapa as a political gimmick. Veerraju wondered if the MP was interested in development of Kadapa, why he had failed to oppose the closure of milk factory and Chennuru Sugar Factory.

Veerraju pointed out that the NDA government never said no to setting up steel plant in Kadapa. He said that following the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a survey was completed for the construction of national highway at Rayachoti. BJP Kadapa district president Srinatha Reddy, party leaders K V Ramana Reddy, K Balachandra Reddy, Jayasree, Venkataramana and others were present.
