Senior scribe Buchchiraju passes away 

Pithapuram: Senior journalist Bojja Venkata Buchchiraju,56, passed away here on Monday while undergoing treatment for his chronic illness at a private hospital in Kakinada. He is survived by wife, two daughters and a son. 

He worked in several Telugu dailies like Udayam, Andhra Jyoti and was the publisher and editor for the Circar Express published from Kakinada. He also worked for some time in Indian Express. 

He worked as a journalist in East and West Godavari districts and strived hard to bring out Datta Jyoti, a spiritual magazine, from Pithapuram. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu condoled his death and conveyed his sympathies to bereaved family members.

He described Buchchiraju as the person who upheld journalistic values. Naidu said that he became reputed in Godavari districts by virtue of his writings.  Information department deputy director Francis also condoled the death.
