BJP demands reinstatement of Saakshar Bharat employees
Vijayawada: BJP MLA P Vishnukumar Raju asked the government to revoke the decision to remove Saakshar Bharat employees from the service. Speaking to media persons here on Tuesday along with the leaders of Saakshar Bharat employees, he said that the government had removed 21,000 Saakshar Bharat employees from the service. He asked the government to provide job security to them.
The TDP gave job guarantee slogan to employees during the elections, he recalled and added that now the 21,000 employees who worked under the state government’s Saakshar Bharat scheme lost their livelihood due to the government order.
He also said that the government did not react on this issue though the leaders of the BJP tried to bring the issue to the notice of the ministers. He asked Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to provided them employment.
BJP Yuva Morcha state president P Vishnuvardhan Reddy said that the TDP removed 21,000 contract employees from their service without any reason. He asked the government to think the financial position of the employees if they suddenly lost the livelihood. He said that the government utilised their services continuously eight years.
He wondered as to how the government removed them from service without giving at least notice. He said that the government achieved an award in open defecation-free programme due to the efforts of these employees. He commented that the state government might show Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the reason for the removal of employees.
