Baby girl abandoned in bushes, saved

Kurnool: In a heart wrenching incident, newborn baby girl was found in bushes in Veldurthy village in the district. As per the information, residents of Veldurthi village heard the cries of a baby from bushes behind the Raghavendra theatre on late Monday night. They found a baby girl wrapped up in a cement bag and was left in the bushes. 

Villagers informed officials of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) department and cops. On receiving the information, the ICDS officials rushed to the spot and shifted the baby to Government General Hospital (GGH) in Kurnool for treatment. ICDS officer Radha has termed abandoning the baby girl as an inhuman act. Parents of newborn should have handed over her to the ICDS department or child care centre, she stated. Fortunately, the baby is safe except bite by the ants. A case was registered.
