Cops thrashed me, alleges tribal woman

Nellore: Atmakur police had allegedly beaten up a tribal woman after shifting her to the police station in connection with a case. She alleged that she had received injuries as cops thrashed her. Relatives of the victim admitted her in the district headquarters hospital for treatment.

According to the sources, R Prasanna from ST Colony in Atmakur got married and separated with her husband due to alleged harassment by him. Prasanna has been having live-in relationship with another person, Harikrishna, of the same colony for some time.

Recently, relatives of Harikrishna lodged a complaint with the police against Prasanna that she had lured him. Cops called Prasanna to the police station for investigation and allegedly thrashed her and consequently she received injuries. But, Atmakur police denied her allegations.
