JNTU Kakinada contract lecturers demand regularisation of services

Kakinada: The contract lecturers employed in JNTU-K University campus and university college sought better deal.In all, 30 contract lecturers out of 85 staged a dharna in front of university registrar’s office on Tuesday seeking continuation of their services whithout breaks.

Spokesperson of contract lecturers K Vijay Kumar said that they have been demanding continuation of their services sans break and treat them as permanent employees as per the directive of the High Court.  

They demanded salaries for 12 months instead of one-month break. They submitted a memorandum to the university registrar VV Subba Rao who assured to take appropriate action in this regard.
