Rally against drugs organised

Akiveedu: An awareness rally was organised by Prohibition and Excise department to create awareness among youth on drugs here on Wednesday.

They organised the rally as part of anti-drug campaign to mark International day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

Speaking on the occasion, Excise Circle Inspector Satish said that youth had becoming addicted to drugs at very tender age and spoiling their lives.

Sub-Inspector Sudhakar Reddy said that the youth under influence of drugs had been resorting to many crimes. The youth after taking drugs had been losing control and indulging in different crimes, he lamented.

Vidya Vikas students who participated in the rally had raised slogans against drugs. They  also  displayed placards with slogans like ‘Yuvata  meluko drugs manuko’.

Apart from excise staff, several policemen, students, youth participated in the rally.
