Federation members said the state government had allocated Rs 4.5 crore for welfare of the washermen and they slammed BC welfare officials for failing to utilise them properly.

They also lamented that a committee at the district-level has to be formed for reviewing welfare of the community people, but it was not done for the last 10 years. BC Welfare Officer Venkateswarlu, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Srinivas, and others were present.
