Plea to take libraries closer to people

Guntur: Director of Public Libraries P Parvati has said that there is a need to take libraries closer to the people.

She addressed valedictory meeting of two-day workshop of library officials held at Vignan's Univesity at Vadlamudi in Guntur district on Friday.

Speaking on this occasion, she said that by reading books, “We will get knowledge.”

She urged the people to read books and explained steps taken to promote reading habit.  

Resource person Lavanya Srinivas said that there was need to attract the children towards libraries with good stories and need to change libraries as Kutumba Vikasa Kendras.

Vignan's University librarian Rajani Kumari was also present.
