Yoga must in educational institutions: Collector

Chittoor: Practising Yoga keeps a person happy and can lead a healthy life, said ZP Chairperson Girvani. She along with District Collector PS Pradyumna has attended the Yoga demonstration programme at Masonic grounds here on Thursday, one the occasion of the International Yoga Day. Earlier, Girvani, Pradyumna and other officials performed Yoga asanas.

Girvani gave a call to women to practise Yoga as they can derive several benefits. The ZP chief stated Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is maintaining good health by practising Yoga every day despite busy schedule. On the occasion, the Collector explained the significance and benefits of Yoga. He mentioned that Yoga was made mandatory in the educational institutions.

He exhorted parents to encourage their school going children in sports, games and Yoga while stressing there is no age restriction for learning Yoga. Former MP Durga Ramakrishna, Joint Collector-2 V R Chandramouli and others also spoke.
