APATA plea to Defence Minister

Visakhapatnam: Andhra Pradesh Air Travellers Association (APATA) led by O Naresh Kumar, DS Varma and Dr Kumar Raja met MP K HariBabu and explained the urgency for resolving the issue of Navy restrictions on civil airlines at the earliest even though the Navy restrictions will come into effect from November 1 as the airlines need to announce their winter schedule at least 90 days in advance to facilitate the passengers to book the tickets at a reasonable price.

The decision regarding the Navy restrictions on civil airlines will force the airlines to reschedule their airlines to other cities where air traffic is higher and less restrictions. There is a need to facilitate the airlines to plan their winter schedule to help passengers to buy tickets in advance. There is a need to resolve the issue at the earliest, the delegation explained to the Visakhapatnam MP.  

Responding on the plea, Haribabu informed that he has written a letter to Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and informed that he would be writing a letter to Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu. Haribabu assured that he would meet Chief of ENC and other officials for early resolution on the issue. The MP also said that he would meet Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and take up the issue personally.
