Jewellery shop manager steals 10 kg of gold, held

Nellore: The CCS Police have arrested a person who  worked as manager of a gold shop and stolen 10 kgs of gold worth Rs.3 crore. Police recovered gold from him. The accused is identified as Dinesh Kumar Soni.

OSD Crimes TP Vithaleswar disclosed the case details at CCS here on Friday. He said that Dinesh Kumar is from Koramvari Street and had worked as Manager at Bhavya Jewellers located in the city for the past seven years. Dinesh planned to start his own shop in the city and had stolen gold bars from the shop for making ornaments.

Altogether, he had stolen 10 kgs of gold from the shop during the past three years, said the OSD. Management of the Bhavya Jewellers noticed missing of gold bars from the shop and lodged a complaint with Santhapet Police in April this year.

Santhapet Police launched investigation and finally nabbed Dinesh Kumar who had worked as manager in the shop. CCS DSP M Balasundar Rao, City DSP NBM Murali Krishna, Santhapet CI B Papa Rao and others were present at the press meet.
