Ramesh’s health deteriorates

Kadapa: The health condition of Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh, MLC B.Tech Ravi deteriorated on Saturday as their indefinite hunger strike entered the fourth day. A medical team arrived from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) at the fast camp as conducted medical checkup to the duo. They said that IV fluids should be administered to the two leaders as there was a drastic fall in their sugar levels.

The doctors also warned them to take full rest and said that their health condition would deteriorate further if they continued their fast. However, the duo said that they would continue their fast until the Centre announced setting of steel plant in Kadapa. Meanwhile a large number of TDP activists thronged the fast camp on Saturday. Ministers S Chandramohan Reddy, Pithani Satyanarayana, K Kala Venkata Rao, K Atchannaidu, C Adinarayana Reddy and Kadapa district TDP president R Srinivasulu Reddy visited the fast camp and expressed their solidarity with the with MP C M Ramesh and MLC B.Tech Ravi.

Speaking the occasion, Atchannaidu urged all sections of people to fight against the Centre to set up steel plant in Kadapa. He said it was unfortunate that the Opposition parties were not extending their support to C M Ramesh’s fast and trying to politicise the issue. He said the TDP leaders launched the fast for the steel plant only to protect the interests of the unemployed youth in Kadapa district. Atchannaidu pointed out that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had visited New Delhi 29 times to exert pressure on the Centre to fulfill the assurances made in AP Reorganisation Act-2014 including establishing a steel plant in Kadapa.

TDP State president and Energy Minister K Kala Venkata Rao alleged that YSR Congress president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was having secret pact with the BJP and was trying to destablise the State government following the directions of the saffron party. Minister P Satyanarayana said TDP made electoral alliance with the BJP in 2014 elections to get the promises made by the Centre fulfilled which include Kadapa Steel Plant, Dugarajapatnam Port, Visakha Railway Zone and Special Category Status to AP. But the BJP-led NDA government failed to fulfill the promises, he regretted.
