YSRCP activists stage dharna demanding steel plant
Kadapa: As part of its ongoing protest for establishment of steel plant in Kadapa district, YSR Congress, along with other opposition parties, performed mega dharna at old Collectorate office here on Saturday. Party functionaries in large numbers participated in the programme. On this occasion, speakers flayed TDP for not developing the state for their political advantage.
Prodduturu MLA RSiva Prasad Reddy demanded Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to answer the people why he had failed to bring pressure on the Central government for establishing steel plant during the past four years if he was really committed for the development of Kadapa district. While questioning the credibility of CM Ramesh for performing hunger strike, he questioned what was the Rajya Sabha member doing for the last four years.
Describing indefinite fast of CM Ramesh as Corporate fast,’ Rayachoti MLA GSrikanth Reddy demanded the Rajya Sabha member to answer why he had kept quite when the committee of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) submitted negative report in the Supreme Court over the feasibilities for the establishment of steel plant in Kadapa district. He said that since the beginning, YSR Congress has been bringing pressure on the Union government for implementation of assurances mentioned in AP Reorganisation Act including steel plant issue.
Party MLAs Amjad Basha , Raghuram Reddy and Ravindranath Reddy, MLCsGovinda Reddy and Gopala Reddy, former MLA Pocham Reddy, Kadapa city Mayor Suresh, CPM leader Narayana, Siva Sankar, AfjalKhan and others were present.
