CC cameras play crucial role in curbing crime: CP D Gautam Sawang
Vijayawada: Commissioner of Police D Gautam Sawang on Sunday said that the CC cameras installed at various parts in the city would play important role in solving the crimes.
Inaugurating e-netra CC cameras surveillance network at the Governorpet police station, Sawang said the trade associations in Beasant Road, Hanumanpet and Governorpet areas came forward to install 178 CC cameras under the limits of Governorpet police station.
He said the state government had decided to install 20, 000 CC cameras in the state to improve surveillance of them 2,000 cameras will be installed in Vijayawada. The commissioner said he was very happy that both traders and people are coming forward to arrange CC cameras to increase vigil in their respective commercial and residential areas in the city.
He recalled how CC cameras played important role in tracing a four-year-old girl Navysri, who went missing from Durga temple recently and in resolving the sensational gold robbery case in Beasant road one year ago He said the city police are trying to instill confidence among people particularly women, elderly people and children by increasing vigil and patrolling.
He suggested to traders to install CC cameras network under the Public Service Securities Act to keep the public places and commercial places under surveillance. Joint commissioner of police Kanti Rana Tata, in-charge DCP law and order Navaab Jaan, DCP crime Shireen Begum, representatives of trade associations Addepalli Srikanth, Gupta Bhaskar, Omini Kumar, KJN Prasad and others attended the event.
