Houses for Safai Karmacharis soon
Guntur: Safai Karmachari Commission member Jagadeesh Hiremani visited TJPS, Pattabhipuram, Nallacheruvu and RTC Bus Stand area in the city on Monday to inspect sanitary conditions.
He asked the details of door-to-door garbage collection and interacted with the sanitary workers and enquired about their problems. He also enquired about whether they are getting salaries regularly. He suggested to wear safety kits while doing works. Later, he conducted a meeting with the sanitation workers unions in the GMC Council Hall.
Stating that the Central government has been releasing funds for the welfare of Safai Karmacharis, he said that the Centre would provide permanent houses for Safai Karmacharis and bank loans to construct houses.
He asked the workers to enroll their names to get insurance coverage also. GMC Additional Commissioner K Ramachandra Reddy and SC Corporation Executive Director Balaji Naik were also present.
