Ramesh fast enters Day 5, doctors concerned over worsening health

Kadapa: The indefinite fast by Rajya Sabha member CM Ramesh and MLC B. Tech Ravi entered fifth day on Sunday. A 3-member team of doctors from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) who conducted medical check-up told RIMS director in the evening proposed forcible injection of fluids to the duo prevent their health condition deteriorating.

It is learnt that the doctors’ team said the sugar levels of two had drastically come down on Sunday as they lost the weight. The RIMS director is expected to submit a report to the district collector and SP for further action. However, CM Ramesh and B.Tech Ravi are reportedly reluctant to withdraw their stir despite several appeals from their family members.  

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Chinarajappa, ministers Ganta Srinivasa Rao, PrathipatiPulla Rao, C Adinarayana Reddy, Kalava Srinivasulu , MLC P  Ramasubba Reddy  TTD chairman P Sudhakar Yadav, TTD board member and movie director K Raghavendarao and several other party leaders visited the fast camp on Sunday and expressed their solidarity for the two leaders who have been agitating for steel plant in Kadapa. 

Speaking on the occasion, ministers, MPs and other leaders found fault with the Central government for its arrogant attitude towards Andhra Pradesh in fulfilling the assurances like steel plant, Dugarajapatnam port  and railway zone made in AP Reorganisation Act.

Describing YSR Congress president as immature politician, minister Kalava Srinivasulu said Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had become a puppet in the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on order to come out of illegal investment cases against him.

The minister said it is impossible for Jagan to win in the coming elections even if he moves heaven and earth because people of the state would vote in TDP into power next time too in view of its good deeds.
