Srikanth denies he apologised, women players allege rot
Vijayawada: Yalamanchali Srikanth, former secretary, Krishna District Kabaddi Association (KDKA), claimed on Sunday that he was still the secretary of the District Kabaddi Association and refuted all the allegations made by the state association against him.
Addressing media conference here with some woman kabaddi players, Srikanth said that he did not tender apology to anyone and alleged that a fake apology letter was created by state Kabaddi association president K E Prabhakar. He said the issue was brought to the notice of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. National woman kabaddi player K L V Ramana alleged that state kabaddi association president Veeralankaiah had sold sports certificates.
She said that Veeralankaiah and K E Prabhakar had spoiled the future of many talented players by discriminating against them and supporting untalented players. She alleged that Veeralankaiah demanded Rs 4 lakh to issue Form II. She alleged that he began harassing her sexually when she expressed her inability to pay the amount.
Another kabaddi player P Dhanalakshmi said that kabaddi association vice-president RD Prasad’s wife got job in APSRTC with fake certificate and demanded a probe into this and other allegations.
