AIYF: BJP failed to fulfil bifurcation promises

Update: 2018-06-26 08:45 IST

Kurnool: All India Youth Federation (AIYF) state secretary N Lenin Babu alleged that the BJP has failed to fulfil the bifurcation promises made to Andhra Pradesh and betrayed AP by denying Special Category Status (SCS). Speaking to the media at Chandra Rajeshwara Rao Bhavan here on Monday, the AISF leader said that they are planning to organise human chain protest across the state on July 25 in view of the betrayal by the BJP.

Lenin said the BJP had promised to sanction adequate funds for the development of backward north coastal and Rayalaseema districts besides constructing Polavaram Project and the capital city Amaravati. But, the Modi government did not stand by its promises and continued to ignore sanctioning of funds. Even, the Central government had rejected the proposal of setting up of steel plant in Kadapa district. All these series of incidents clearly indicate the vindictive nature of the Centre towards Andhra Pradesh, he criticised.

The AISF leader also blamed the BJP government for not sanctioning sufficient funds for the construction of central educational institutions. He demanded to set up new industries in Rayalaseema districts with reservation to the locals. The AISF wants to give Kadapa bandh call on June 29 and educational institutions bandh on July 4 in protest against the Modi government, he stated. AIYF district secretary Karumanchi and other leaders were present.
