Ashtavadhanam enthralls literary enthusiasts
Vijayawada: Noted litterateur Dr Palaparti Syamalananda Prasad said the literary feats like Ashtavadhanam and Satavadhanam have been ancient and only limited to Telugu language.
Participating in the Ashtavadhanam organised for the first time by the management of Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana College here on Monday, he said that this type of literary feats would encourage youth to face typical situations in life and help sharpen their literary knowledge.
Expressing concern over the spate of suicides by the students whenever they face problem, he said that this type of literary feats would help them to face such problems courageously.
Elaborating on the Ashtavadhanam, Dr Syamalananda said the questioners would pose questions on eight different subjects at a time and he would answer to all the questions simultaneously. He appealed to students to understand the richness of Telugu language.
Noted litterateur Prof Mallapragada Srimannarayana Murthy compering the programme said that Avadhanam would give a great message to the society.
Gopisetty Mallaiah, general secretary of Hindu High Schools Committee felicitated the questioners. Among the questioners were Dr Narayanam Suresh Babu as Nishiddhakshari, Dr Gumma Sambasiva Rao as Samasya, Dr Allamsetty Nagajyoti as Dattapadi, Khandapu Manmadha Rao as Varnana, Dr Velidandla Naga Manadevi as Chitrakshari, Dr Jillepalli Venkatachalapati Rao as Purana Pathanam, Kuncham Srinivasa Rao as Ashuvu, Dr Kappagantu Ramakrishna as Aprastuta Prasangi.
