Galla Aruna appointed TDP politburo member

Amaravati: Senior TDP leader from Chittoor district and former minister Galla Aruna Kumari was appointed as politburo member of the party. The TDP said that she has been appointed as the politburo member by party’s national president N Chandrababu Naidu, in a press release here on Tuesday.

Aruna Kumari represents Chandragiri Assembly constituency in Chittoor district and her son Galla Jayadev is present Parliament member from Guntur Lok Sabha constituency.

It may be mentioned here that upset over the party functioning in her constituency, Galla Aruna quit from the post of constituency in-charge recently. Before that, she organised a meeting with the local leaders in which she reportedly expressed her dissatisfaction by saying that there was no priority for her.

Now the decision of Chandrababu Naidu to appoint her as politburo member came as great news for Galla’s family, since this is the highest decision making body in the party. The party leaders from Chittoor also expressed happiness over her appointment.

Chandrababu Naidu has taken the decision as part of measures to strengthen the party in Chittoor district, in the wake of ensuing elections, sources informed.
